About Ukousa Logistics

Ukousa Logistics is a contract logistics and bulk haulage business operating nationally from Pretoria. It moves coal from mine to power station, rail siding and export terminal, runs distribution into shopping centres and chain retail, and provides dedicated fleet on long-term contract. It is deliberately built for contract volume rather than ad-hoc work — no courier, no household removals, no single-parcel jobs.

How it works

Four steps, and you know what happens at each one before you commit to anything.

  1. Scope and rateVolumes, routes, loading windows and turnaround times. Bulk haulage is priced on cycle time, not distance alone.
  2. Compliance packOperator credentials, insurance limits, RTMS status, B-BBEE certificate and CSD registration submitted for vendor onboarding.
  3. Ramp upSubcontracted capacity absorbs early volume while dedicated fleet is committed against the contract.
  4. Run and reportTelematics visibility, on-time delivery reporting and monthly reconciliation against contracted volumes.

Frequently asked questions

Are you RTMS accredited?

RTMS accreditation is a condition of most mine-to-power-station coal hauling in South Africa and is increasingly required by large retailers and mining houses. It is built on SANS 1395 and audited by a SANAS-accredited certification body. We can supply our current accreditation status and certificate on request as part of any vendor onboarding pack.

Do you take once-off loads?

Generally no. Ukousa Logistics is structured for contract volume — scheduled routes and committed capacity. Once-off and ad-hoc loads are quoted only where they fit an existing route. We do not offer courier services or household removals.

What is the minimum contract size?

We work on committed monthly volume rather than a rand minimum. As a guide, a viable dedicated contract typically starts around a full vehicle deployed five days a week. Smaller volumes are better served on a shared route.

Which regions do you cover?

Nationally. Core coal corridors are Mpumalanga to the Highveld power stations and to Richards Bay, with retail distribution concentrated in Gauteng, and long-haul line haul to all major centres.
